MORE ON THE TREACHERY OF NOAM CHOMSKY (article 33),

The recent publicity given to Noam Chomsky's book by Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela, at the UN, is not an exoneration for Chomsky. On the contrary, it proves how dangerous Chomsky has been for the Left worldwide, and for anti-imperialist forces in particular, as he managed to get Hugo Chavez fall into his trap too !

Noam Chomsky's loyalty to zionism is not the only reason for his menace. He has been regarded as the darling of the most reactionary forces on earth : the USA ruling class ,the comprador ruling class of South Korea, the rulers of Israel. Thus, for example, the most recent issue of the Opinion Journal, the Editorial Page of The Wall Street Journal ,carries an article titled, Who Is Noam Chomsky? by a Roger Scruton. The Wall Street Journal is known all over the world as the official mouthpiece of big business in the USA, the USA ruling class.

The article opens as follows,

"Noam Chomsky's popularity owes little or nothing to the eminent place that he occupies in the world of ideas. That place was won many years ago in the science of linguistics, and no expert in the subject would, I think, dispute Prof. Chomsky's title to it."

The article then goes on to sing the praises of Noam Chomsky in linguistics, and concluding it as follows :

"Although some of those ideas had been foreseen by the pioneers of modern logic, Prof. Chomsky develops them with an imaginative flair that is entirely his own. He has the true scientist's ability to translate abstract theory into concrete observation, and to discover intellectual problems where others see only ordinary facts. "Has," I say, but perhaps "had" would be more accurate. For Prof. Chomsky long ago cast off his academic gown and donned the mantle of the prophet. "

Prophet ? "Prophet" for the USA ruling class ?

The article does go on to criticise Noam Chomsky, but only in a very mild and forgiving way, concluding that "Prof. Chomsky is an intelligent man. Not everything he says by way of criticizing his country is wrong."

This is not the first time the USA ruling class expressed its approval of Noam Chomsky, and even praised him. My 21st article in this series quotes the hierarchy of the USA Miltary Academy at West Point, which invited him to lecture there for their cadets. The USA military chieftains had only praise and respect for him following his lecture there. In other words, Noam Chomsky is regarded as a friend, certainly not as an enemy of USA imperialism, by the leaders of that imperialism which threatens the entire humanity !
